A day off and we have a few items to attend to in town. Our first item was to clean up a bit from the days out on the ocean. As luck would have it I found that even though I had no fishing tackle on board, the fish were flying in. Now if I only could bring myself to really fish aboard….somehow Jaxon and Cooper are enough to handle…..fishing will be off the dock of the bay or waiting as we did here for one to jump aboard.
Next we would work on our dinghy deployment. Our dinghy is a Rigid boat with a 30 HP outboard. Needless to say we need a crane to lift it off the upper deck and lower it to the water. With Greg at the controls and three of us supervising it is bound to be flawless. We had two on the upper deck and two on the lower deck making sure this went off without incident. A thing of beauty. Splash it went and with the turn of the key Greg had fun giving it a test drive.
With the dinghy splashed we could head into Parker and Liz’s and get our paperwork out of the way with their local bank. Parker had arranged a notary for us and within ten minutes we had documents signed, scanned, emailed and snail mailed to the proper parties. A quick stop to the local Winn Dixie to pick up a few items resulted in an $83 tab. All I really needed were more bottled waters and bread…..oh well. Then the best stop in Saint James City (besides Parker and Liz’s Cabana) is the Pine Island Getaway Cafe….a French bakery and cafe. A quiche, almond croissants, butter croissants and a cinnamon roll made it out the door without much thought of dollars or calories. It is just one of those things you just have to do. With our errands completed, we would meet the boys and all have lunch together at Phuzzy’s Boat Shack. A great meal with wonderful friends catching up on the year that has passed.
We returned to the boat to stow our things and prepare for the next mornings departure. The boys would take one last trip in the dinghy and grab a few shots of Sauvy B/Paradigm Shift as the sun began to set. The dinghy would then be hoisted aboard and we would button things up for another night. We have an early departure for the Caloosahatchee River.
