With news of another pretty strong north/northeasterly blow, Paradigm Shift headed to George Town where we could get a few groceries and a little better protection from the 30-40 knot wind gusts they are predicting. Of course that means we pulled up the anchor and then we motored through Rat Cay Cut and then another 4 hours of motoring to George Town. All under the watchful eye of the one who thinks he is is charge. LOL Cooper is very interested in EVERY detail…..from Eddie (the stink bug) to the direction we are headed on the boat. We have those moments when we think ”what have we done”, but most days this little guy is an absolute delight. He never ceases to provide entertainment. Jaxon on the other hand….(the perfect one) just sits back and waits till his name is called or he knows it is time to either eat or take a dinghy ride. He perks up and is ready at a moments notice. Cooper makes the moments happen….such as the other morning when our friends Janice and Harley from Folly came for a visit. I was busy showing them the boat while Greg was preparing for the arrival of some other folks who were coming to pick up some water. Unbeknownst to me, when the second couple arrived, our little acrobat swung into his ”what’s happening here” mode and when the door to the swim platform opened out he went. Yes….he went flying out the door, slipped on the wet platform, could not catch a grip…….and OFF he went….into the water. We don’t know if he learned anything from that experience as he still wants to jump from the side entry door down to the dinghy as soon as the door opens. More training to do. He sits at command but getting him to stay???? I am not sure that word exists in his little head quite yet.
Once anchored in George Town you can see he is trying to decide if we made the right choice of anchorages. What a hoot!
The night time sky was just beautiful as there was hardly any wind and the water was almost still. Watching dinghy’s cut through the water was about the only movement we saw. The boat behind us had three level of spreader lights which were nice to look at as well as they served well at night to know exactly where it was when it was pitch black out. The lights in each of the anchorages were just beautiful and trying to capture that is difficult when you don’t have the patience to go downstairs and get your ”better” camera. But I hope you will get a little sense of just how peaceful a crowded (over 300 boats) anchorage can be.
The day would come to an end as we were making our plans for the next morning. With little or no wind predicted, we would head into town and meet No Limits and Lil’ Unsteady and do a little grocery shopping. A HUGE shout out to Exuma Market as their shelves were well stocked and they had undergone a little transformation that made getting through the isles so much easier. I was in heaven when I saw PRODUCE……yes…..green leafy stuff! I had to calculate in my head the amount of space I have in my refrigerators and how quickly we would eat some of it as I was ready to buy tons of greens. I held back and hopefully just bought enough to get through the blow and our lobster and steak Valentines Day dinner we have planned. Oh yes….lobster from our dear friends, Ryan and Renee on Poerava, will be on our table for Valentines Day.
With so much planned for the next few days, before the blow, it looks like the boys get exhausted just thinking out it! LOL
