With our departure from Farmers, we entered through Rudder Cut and anchored near the caves and the sunken piano off David Copperfields Musha Cay. With some beautiful weather we dropped the dinghys and followed River Rat to a pond at Cave Cay and explored a bit of the ocean side by foot. What beauty as Carl and Greg climb the formations and Debi and I look for sea glass and keep an eye on Cooper and Jaxon.

Once we had cleared the beach of sea glass, we headed back to our boats for a little lunch and a plan to gather at the cave at low tide to enjoy a little afternoon libation and chat a while. We would later meet for dinner aboard River Rat. Great catching up with friends from home.

We would sit the next day on the boat as it was a very windy day and await the seas to settle so that we could continue down the Exuma chain toward our favored anchorage at Williams Cay. River Rat would continue on to Georgetown when they needed to provision and pick up parts. Cooper is enjoying himself…..yes he is the brave and the bold!

We spent the better part of a week at Williams Cay waiting for the seas to calm to exit out of Rat Cay Cut and make our way to Georgetown. It was exciting to be on the phone with my dad and brother as we were transiting the cut. We could allow them to see what we see as we approach….it always looks so much smaller than it is.

We pulled into Georgetown with thoughts of getting some provisions and picking up some parts from our dear friends on Crossroads who just happened to be in the harbor. What great fun getting to see these two familiar faces. Home is just a stone’s throw away (some days) and today it was in our back yard so to speak. We got to enjoy lunch and dinner together and today as you can see Barry is out playing around like a monkey but that is what the job of being a captain calls for some days.
