Onward to Little Farmers for the 5 F’s

5 F’s? First Friday in February Farmers Festival. What a mouthful and what a wonderful time. I cannot recall ever being at the festival with as many boats as there was this year. The dinghy parking was limited on the beach so many were anchored in the shallows just so they could enjoy watching both the cruisers and the local Bahamian sailboat races.

Cooper is not going to miss a thing. He anxiously watches as folks pour in hoping they will bring a four legged “friend” for he and Jaxon to meet. And this was going to be the place to meet EVERYONE! Deb and Carl from River Rat and Carl’s brother Dirk and wife Diana were some of the first to greet us. There was Allan and Bev on Dagny, Blaine and Nancy on our sister ship Asante’ and then of course everyone we had just caught up with at Black Point. It was one huge party for sure. The gentleman making the conch salad was a new friend to add to our party. He stayed busy the entire day chopping and mixing some deliciousness.

Too much fun in the sun for sure and with most of the races completed for the day we invited our new friend from Freeport, Doc Poitier back to Paradigm Shift, along with River Rat and Asante for “sundowners”. It was time to start “chillin” instead of baking.

Our next stop will be Musha Cay and Rudder Cay with River Rat. We will hang a day or two there and then make another move…..slowly but surely getting to Georgetown.
