Norman’s Cay

With our departure from Chubb Cay we ventured to West Bay on the northwest side of Nassau. This would enable us to have a shorter day down the Exuma chain towards Norman’s Cay on Tuesday. As you can tell, the boys are all worked up about it. LOL. The water is just breathtaking as we take it all in and watch our buddy boat, No Limits, fly their sails.

With our arrival to Norman’s Cay we make our way to the beach and allow the boys to run a bit. Cooper as usual is running back and forth like a nut….Jaxon just takes it all in. We are anchored on the outside of the actual cay but remember our first years anchoring on the inside close to the plane wreck that is one of the “snorkel attractions” here in the Bahamas.

We take our time enjoying the different areas to explore even taking a long dinghy trip through a cut and back into Norman’s Pond which is up on the northern side of the cay and accessible from the outside. It is a skinny entrance both in diameter and in depth but what a lovely anchorage if you want to be on a secluded island…….this would be the place. I could see the wheels spinning in Gregs head about how we could get back there at high tide, meanwhile I would be having a panic attack the entire trip. LOL

We had decided that we would enjoy lunch at MacDuff’s as it is a place we had yet to get to in our many trips this way. Tucked up in the greenery around the beach is a beautiful little venue that is elegantly appointed with the ambiance of upscale yet casual dining. The bougainvilleas are in full bloom and the birds were chirping in our ears. It was lovely.

With all of our usual spots and a few new ones explored, we will pull up anchor and head to the Land and Sea Park for anchorage or a mooring ball for a couple of days.
