We anchored at Wrightsville, NC last night and pondered our day. Greg and Robert (former owner) had been troubleshooting all day the generator issue and just when you think you have one thing figured out, a fuse has blown and we are back to scratching our heads. It is hard to imagine sitting in the seat of either of these gentlemen, but I could watch Greg twist and turn to get into tight spaces trying to remove wires from a junction box that was full of wires. And on the other side I can imagine Robert …..with his mind twisting and turning following schematic drawings and deciding which wires to have Greg remove from certain switches. We had moments to celebrate and then there were moments we would deflate. Lights on the gauges!!!! YAY! Then they were gone! Voltage when you would hit the preheat switch!!!!! YAY! Then try the start switch and POP goes the fuse! We believe it is in one of the switches or a short in a wire downstream. It is just a process and in that lies the mystery of this week for us. Tonight we hope to make Bucksport, SC and then on to Georgetown, SC where we will charge both our batteries and the boats batteries. Paradigm Shift needs some fuses, Greg needs some answers and closure to the generator, and me???? I just need some time off the boat and a little retail therapy.
