North Palm “Paws”

Well it was a pause about the paws to be exact.  This is the day the “boys” have been so worked up over.  They get to go on a nice dinghy ride north of our anchorage to North Palm Beach where they will meet up with their soon to be friends, Charlie and Pepper.  The Captain is navigating but I am sure these two are keeping him in check.

With a noon arrival our friend, Bill Hipple, meets us at the dock and helps to escort the boys along the green grass to where his truck awaits to take us to his home.  Pepper and Charlie are Bichon/Shitz Shu pups.  Actually the oldest is Charlie who reminds us of Jaxon…..pretty laid back….nothing much disturbs him except maybe his younger sibling.  Yes…..then there is Pepper……aka the younger feistier one….yes the one Cooper would be most drawn towards.  Boy were they a hoot.  Poor Pepper had to defend her territory as Cooper thinks every moment of everyone’s day is ALL ABOUT HIM.  The boys loved the opportunity to be off the boat and meet new four legged friends…..some “their” size.  It was a great time for them as well as for Greg and I.

As I reported earlier we had seen Bill in Belhaven, NC and had talked then about getting together if the weather and everything worked for us to do so.  This was our opportunity and we were so excited that we would be able to meet the person that really keeps Bill straight, Kathy.  Kathy took time away from her hectic schedule to come home for lunch and spend a few moments with us.  It was great seeing their newly renovated patio complete with in ground pool and screened enclosure.  It was their oasis which was ours for the afternoon.

With thoughts of a departure to No Name Harbor, we ask Bill to drop me at the local market to pick up a few items so that we don’t need to stop again until we hit Key Largo.  Doris’ Italian Market is “the bomb”.  Wow…..Kathy had said it was great and Bill had told me to take my time.  Well I had thoughts of taking another hour or two but honestly they have so much in such a small space you could spend a couple of days trying to see it all.  After picking up the necessities and a treat, we are back aboard “PS” the dinghy and headed back towards West Palm Beach where Paradigm Shift awaits.

Oh yes….we did stop to take a photo of one yacht that was in the marina.  It’s name says it all…..I won’t divulge the owners name but I will say I hope he is feeling up to par soon and back out there!

With a steak on the grill and roasted veggies from my new favorite market and a sautéed polenta cake, we watch the tiki bar float by and wait for an early departure to No Name Harbor on Thursday.
