Another Day in Georgetown

We had not been able to enjoy much of the town yesterday as it was Sunday and most shops are closed…..good to see that there are still some folks that believe that Sunday is a day of rest.  Don’t get me wrong….if they were open I would be there but it still is nice to see not every business needs to open.

So I strolled into town about 10:00 carrying my big bag as I was anticipating a windfall of purchases.  With the holidays approaching there is all kinds of things I need to find.  As my luck would have it most stores do not open until 11:00.  LOL…why didn’t I check the hours yesterday?  There were one or two opening at 10:30 so I hung around town taking in all of the sights.  The stores are still working on their holiday displays while the road crews are busy tearing up concrete and making a mess of the sidewalks and roadways.

I struck out with purchases except at the Mercantile Shop where I scored some treats for Christmas stocking stuffers.  I was also able to score a half gallon of milk so that I did not have to walk to the local Piggly Wiggly.

I strolled back to the boat by way of the lovely Front Street where most the homes are on the historical registry.  The thing I think I like the most is the tree lined road and the massive branches that extend from yard to yard or across the entire street.

Greg and I would head in for dinner and enjoy the shops lit up at night, but were keenly disappointed that there were no ice cream stores open.  LOL. Some of us prefer our yogurt and blueberries.

Cooper is waiting eagerly for our return and wants so much to be a part of EVERYTHING.  Poor Jaxon cannot even catch a nap without the little guy jumping up into the chair and “rocking his world”.  What a mess pot.
