With Greg needing to do a virtual check in with one of his doctors today, we elected to stay in Belhaven where we knew we had good cell phone coverage. This area can be spotty at times and we have yet to spend time enjoying the scenery.
Henry, one of the principal owners of the marina is a sweet soul. He has stories to tell of old and some of the boat stories started to sound familiar. The one in particular about a 128 foot boat he would get in from time to time. Then moments later he mentioned that the guy that use to “captain” that boat was helping to bring a boat in from Coinjock. Peaking our interest further, Greg listened until he recognized the name of the old boat that had since been sold. It turns out it is our dear friend Bill Hipple and he is on his way here for the night with a crew taking a boat to Charleston. Strange how things work sometimes. So we will sit and wait for their arrival.
With time to spare before his appointment and before Bill’s arrival, we spent an hour or so shining up the exterior of Paradigm Shift. The amount of salt that you get in one day is pretty amazing especially when the wind blows at 25 knots as was the day we came we came into the marina. Windows washed inside and out and a spit shine of the upper hull and stainless. She is looking mighty fine.
A quick walk into “town” would bring smiles as we enjoy the lawn decorations and even the intricate woodwork on stairs and shingles. It sure is a cute town with some lovely homes overlooking the water.
We would end our walk coming up the water way and could see Paradigm Shift off in the distance. The park like setting on the water is just beautiful and peaceful.
By the time we have reached the boat we are about out of gas! How appropriate that this old gas pump be at the walkway into the marina. Fill er up!
